Let Me Be Frank… 7-11-18

There are two types of people in this world…  And no, it’s not those that love bacon and those that are wrong.

It’s those that call and those that text.
I’m a texter.  So much so that my wife wonders why I even have a phone if I’m not going to answer it.  Here’s a pro-tip for husbands new to the game.  If your wife calls you, answer it.  Every. Single. Time.
It’s so bad that people who would normally call start by texting me.  They know I probably won’t answer and they figure that I may or may not return a call.
I think I text people for a couple of different reasons.  1) They can answer when theywant. And 2) I think I have a million things to do and I don’t have time to be on the phone.
And then I am reminded, again, that I’m not the center of the universe.  My “divine appointments” with others will never happen if I refuse to answer when God speaks.  He wants to use me for His Glory and I need to allow myself to be interrupted by my Heavenly Father!
I’m so glad God answers each and every time I call.

Call to me and I will answer you and
tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
Jeremiah 33:3

It doesn’t say, “If I’m not busy, I’ll answer.”  It doesn’t say, “If I want to talk to you I’ll answer.”  It says He’ll answer every time!
And Jeremiah 33 is a reminder of hope for tomorrow.  God is saying, “No matter what you think you see, or what you think you have heard I still love you.  You are still my chosen people.  I will restore you.  Trust in me, call to me, and I will answer you!  My faithful love endures forever!”
What if God wants to use me to speak life, restoration, and encouragement into a weary person’s heart?  What if my work for the day is His work – sharing my story and smile, taking time to answer a few questions, sitting down with an old friend?
Answer Him when He calls… and know that He hears you each and every time you call out to Him!
We are Central… and we’re in this TOGETHER!
